North Kildonan United Church has a long history of reaching out to the larger community, both locally and globally. We are always pleased to welcome anyone who is interested in outreach initiatives.
We are proud of being able to honour our ongoing commitments to Harvest Manitoba, The Christmas Cheer Board and the West Broadway Community Services. For over twenty years we have participated in Toonie Sunday where Toonies (any amount is welcome) are collected the first Sunday of each month for The Canadian Food Grains Bank. Other initiatives include collections of school supplies, personal hygiene products and food items.
Our educational programs through our Lunch ‘n Learn events feature a lunch after the worship service and speakers from organizations such as A Rocha Manitoba and the Bear Clan Winnipeg.
We have helped to provide support to refugee families, collected books and clothing to be sent to northern reserves and will continue to study reconciliation issues with the Indigenous community. Our congregation is committed to learning about and supporting social justice issues nationally and in our community.
In addition to the formal educational and advocacy work provided by our Outreach, Mission and Service Committee, our people continue to try to make a difference in the world and to be a positive Christian presence in the community.
Our meetings are held the third Sunday of each month from September to June. We meet after the worship service for approximately one hour.
We welcome your interest!
