Kid Konnection (Sunday School)
We invite all children and families to join in learning about the ways of Jesus Christ. We are committed to providing a fun and safe place for children to grow in their love for God and to enjoy the friendship and fellowship of other children.
Kid Konnection is offered from the middle of September to the middle of June except for long weekends, Christmas and Spring Break. Parents are notified beforehand if there are no classes. Several times a year, the children will participate in the service as scripture readers, present pageants and songs and assist with communion. They are also invited to participate in special events such as the family Christmas party, Easter celebrations and a Celebration Sunday picnic. For most services, children are invited to stay with their families and following the children’s time will go to their classes in our Lower Hall.
Here they will find a willing and capable group of teachers eager to engage them with stories, games, activities and crafts. Most recently the children painted Kindness rocks to leave in the community to brighten the day for anyone who finds them.
Our Kid Konnection classes range from:
- Grade 1 and 2
- Grade 3 and 4
- Junior Youth – Grade 5 and 6
- Senior Youth – Grade 7 up
We welcome families with very young children to a Nursery room complete with toys and kid friendly furniture.
For our very young ones, a comfortable Baby Room for parent and baby is located at the back of the sanctuary with a window to view the service and speakers to hear the service.
Senior Youth Group – Grade 7 and up
This group invites you to join us to grow and learn in the ways of Christ while making new friendships, exploring faith, participating in outreach projects and having fun too! Our group occasionally assists in the Sunday worship services, helps with the Kid Konnection and spearheads many community events and sponsored church activities. We host the annual Pancake Brunch, pack hampers at Thanksgiving and Christmas and assist at the annual Christmas bazaar. We have studied current issues such as social justice and Indigenous cultural practices. Interspersed with all that are fun events such as skating, picnics, mini golf and more. We are proud that many members of this group have gone on to be leaders in our church.
Our door is always open. We meet on Sunday mornings in the Lower Hall at 10 a.m. Friends are most welcome!
