All members of North Kildonan United Church congregation are cordially invited to an English “ultimate” tea to honour our beloved Rev. Marc as he prepares for his departure as our spiritual leader.
This farewell event will be held on Sunday evening, June 23 from 7-9 p.m. in the church sanctuary, with the program beginning at 7 p.m. sharp. More detailed information will follow.
We would also ask that you complete a Memory Card to share a special memory you have of Rev. Marc’s time with us…this can either be completed by email and sent to Barbara Wiebe (firstname.lastname@example.org) or a hard copy can be left at the church office or put on the offering plate. Printed copies are also available in the Narthex. Please return no later than June 9.

A food collection initiative
NKUC is supporting Operation Ezra, a joint collaboration of Jewish and Christian groups, and the only organized Yazidi rescue effort in North America. We’re also doing a food drive.
The Yazidis are one of the oldest religious and ethnic minorities in the world, living primarily in the Nineveh Province of Iraq. They have faced persecution for over 700 years because of their beliefs. Their population has been decimated from 23 million to approximately 700,000 today with approximately 500,000 scattered throughout Iraq; 100,000 in UNHCR camps in Syria and Turkey and 100,000 in Europe (mostly Germany). A Blue Christmas Service

This is an opportunity when we can, with others, acknowledge the “blue” feelings we have at Christmas time, the reasons for them, and offer them to God.
This time has been called the “long dark night of the soul” and “the winter of our discontent” in which memories of past experiences and the pain of present experiences can become overwhelming. Continue reading
Please join us on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. for a wonderful concert by the B-Side Apostles — the duo of Larry Updike and Eric Boorman.
Larry Updike has been playing and singing country music all of his life. He is retired from a 40-year career in radio and is happy to be singing and enjoying the music that means so much to him.
Eric Boorman has travelled the world playing all styles of music for over 40 years but his favourite place is playing country music with Larry.
Tickets are $10 and snacks and refreshments will be served following the concert.
