Our Sunday school, youth group, men’s club, United Church Women, Bible study, choir and many other groups will be starting up. Sunday school registration begins Sept. 9 and we’re holding an Open House on Sept. 16 — if you’re new to the neighbourhood, please drop by. Be sure to check the calendar in this newsletter, the weekly church news and our website to keep informed. Our Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. with coffee and fellowship following the service. We are a friendly and welcoming congregation!

Book Your Table For Quiz Night

quiz night 2018Mark your calendar for Friday, October 12 – IT’S QUIZ NIGHT!
At North Kildonan Community Centre, 1144 Kingsford Place.
Book your table now to reserve a spot – remember 8 people per table. Only 20 tables will be made available.
Beer, wine and other refreshments will be available for purchase. A late lunch will be served to all ticket holders.
We are looking for new items for our prize table so if you have anything to donate, please contact Peggy (204-668-2501).
Tickets are $15 per person.

This Train….

Sister Rosetta TharpeIf you join us for service on June 10, you’ll be able to join with the North Kildonan United choir as we perform a version of Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s This Train. The choir’s version will be a little different but here’s a youtube video of the original.

What Is This Thing Called Love

A Film Series for Lent (and Beyond)

This year during Lent, we are exploring the themes of love, film screeningtransformation and self-sacrifice as depicted in the movies.

All movies start at 1:30 and are followed by a half-hour small group discussion. Admission is free.

Congregation and guests celebrate the completion of the accessibility & expansion project

October 1, 2017 — The congregation of NKUC and guests gathered following Sunday service to celebrate the completion of the church’s Canada 150 Accessibility Project.

The ribbon-cutting
ceremony and unveiling was a highlight of NKUC’s Canada 150 event, “A Celebration of Community.”

The $478,000 project represents the work of architects Ralph Caldwell and Yaron Walter, who found a way to retrofit a building constructed in 1975, with a lift and some modern amenities. Construction was overseen by Concord Projects Ltd.
