1st Sunday of Advent
Isaiah 2: 1-5
Matthew 24: 36-44Acknowledging Traditional Indigenous Territory & Metis Homeland
We acknowledge that long before settlers from other lands came to the territory where today we gather to worship, the people of Canada’s First Nations held this place as a sacred trust. Under the terms of Treaty One, we now share the responsibility of caring for the earth, and sky and water where, along with the Metis people of Manitoba, we pledge to create a sacred space of welcome where all might find a home.Passages
Our sympathies are extended to Richard & Heather Boroski on the passing of Richard's brother, Robert. Please keep the Boroski family in your prayers.

News From The Pews
We Need Socks
John Black will be hosting a Christmas Day dinner at West Broadway Community Dinner and they fill gift bags for each guest that attends. They want to include a pair of socks in each gift bag and while there are other churches that will be donating the women's socks, they were hoping NKUC and JBMUC could donate the men's socks. They need 80 pairs. If NKUC could donate 40 pairs that would be very much appreciated. They would need them by December 17. Last year they had about 135 guests and about 80 of them were men. Thank you for your support!* * * * *

The policy change went into effect for United Church congregations in mid-September 2016 and, as a result, NKUC is resuming the practice of posting these minutes. The minutes can be found by moving your cursor to the ABOUT button and then scrolling down and clicking on BOARD MINUTES or Click Here.Questions or Comments about our Web page?
